Monaco : first-class banking services

A glance at the CFM’s activities.

The Principality doesn’t broadcast its expertise in private banking, yet it is a top-notch financial centre. A glance at the CFM’s activities proves the point.

58 banks, 18 asset management firms and customer deposits exceeding all those made in the Alpes Maritimes… Monaco has nothing to envy of financial centres elsewhere in the world. Very small (1.9 km2), it proposes personalized studies for each portfolio. And foreigners who are residents of Monaco enjoy well-known benefits such as no taxation on income or capital.
A subsidiary of the Crédit Agricole, the CFM is a reference among local banking establishments. Founded in 1922 and now employing 378 people in 8 branch offices, it benefits from its seniority by backing industrial undertakings and projects for local infrastructures. In 2005, its market share was 14.9 %. Strongly oriented towards the international scene, it even invites certain clients into its trading room. Its activities are all adapted to meet the needs of each individual customer. One department does, however, deserve a mention : real estate. If a client is thinking of buying a property in the region, the CFM’s services go well beyond setting up a loan. Thanks to its in-depth knowledge of the property market and expertise in asset and financial engineering, it plays an advisory role at all stages of the investment.
